I have loved to scrap for years, but in the past year, I have begun to add scripture to my pages. I believe it is so important for our children to know where their faith comes from. My little scrapbooking testimony is as follows....
One day at work (I am a nurse) one of my fellow nurses who is a strong believer was looking through my baby album of Ayla. I don't remember exactly what her comment was, but it went something like this... "it's like you are making a little idol out of her." Now she said this and somehow didn't make it sound as bad as it hit me. But it hit me hard. I don't think she meant it cruelly, but God makes good of everything. It made me think hard about what it is that I want these albums to portray. Yes, I want them to know that they were loved by me, but I certainly don't want them to think that they are the center of the world. Our Father alone holds that spot, or at least should. So I revamped my thinking about scrapbooking. No, not every page contains a scripture, but I try to incorporate several into each album. It is just so easy. I love the Creative Memories Faithbooking website and especially their concordance.. http://www.creativememories.com/LandingPages/Page?folder=Faithbooking/Concordance Just looking at it will give you many ideas on how to add scripture to your pages. Our children should know that we adore them, but it is more important for them to know that God IS love.
